Poroshenko signs law on key principles of ensuring Ukraine’s cyber security

Ukraine’s President Petro Poroshenko has signed the bill on the key principles of ensuring cyber security of Ukraine, passed b the Verkhovna Rada on October 5.

The document is intended to create the national cyber security system as a combination of political, social, economic and information relations along with organization, administrative, technical and technological measures applying the comprehensive approach in high cooperation of the public and private sectors and civil society, the presidential press service said in a report issued on November 7 evening.

The law defines the legal and organizational foundation for ensuring the protection of vital interests of citizens, society and the state, the national interests of Ukraine in cyber space, the powers and responsibilities of state agencies, enterprises, institutions, organizations, individuals and citizens, the basic principles of coordination of their activities, as well as basic terms in the field of cyber security.
